A Night To Rebuild Hope for Typhoon Pablo Victims Benefit Concert


TORONTO, Philippines - We’ve left the Philippines but our hearts are still with the Philippines. And that is evident whenever there is a calamity that strikes the country. 
Typhoon Pablo was the latest natural calamity that struck the country and Filipinos in Toronto opened their hearts, their wallets and their time once more to show their compassion for victims back home. 
Consul Belivar Bao from the Philippine Consulate and GK Executive Director Jose Luis Oquinena joined the fundraising. 
As of to date, the ‘Pablo’ Death Toll and Damage:
- over 1200 dead and 800 missing, and CDN $873 Million damages to infrastructure, agriculture and private properties
There was an AV presentation, an update of on the ground relief efforts, snacks, and entertainment!
Max’s Fried Chicken, Casa Manila, kanto by Tita Flips, Bayan Grocers donated food for the night. The following entertainers showed their generosity and support by perfroming for free: Michael Masangkay, Teresa Panaligan, Jake Franco,  Scott Brown and Mark de Leon
Exciting prizes were given to the raffle and silent auction winners. All proceeds will go to Typhoon ‘Pablo’ victims at the One Canada Village Northern Mindanao.

FV Foods Christmas Party & Mel Galeon's Birthday

Fv Foods held their Christmas party January 5. They held it this month so that they will only have one celebration combining company party and Mel Galeon's birthday. Mel Galeon talked about the early beginnings of FV Foods. he also talked about his business in the Philippines. "This is not my first business that I ran. I had one in the Philippines. I started FV here and thankfully, it became successful." he also thanked everyone, from the employees, to his partner Flor Vendiola, to the suppliers to the media who have been instrumental in making FV grow to 5 branches today. Flor also closed the night by tearfully thanking everyone. "I'll just thank everyone so I wil not miss anyone," she said. It was a fun-filled wonderful party hosted by man-about-town Philip Beloso.
