Boxing Meet & greet for Team Gwapo

Filipino Canadian boxer Marc Pagcaliwangan had a press conference at Heaven's Grill along Wilson Avenue. The meet and greet was planned by his manager. The contestants for the Lakambini ng Turismo were also there. The media contingent was me and Filipino Courier publisher Mon Datol, The food served was delicious. It was tapas-style consisting of small sticks of delicious barbecue, sandwiches, vegetables, turn and fruits. It was a very nice easy to spend an evening. A combination of glamour, sports, brawn and beauties in one room, who is going to complain? Marc's team is called Team Gwapo (Handsome). He is good looking. Besides, I don't blame them for calling it Team Gwapo. His last name is actually a tongue-twister even for us fellow Filipinos.

By the way, the beautiful young ladies you see are the contestants for the Lakambini ng Turismo pageant to be held January 5, 2014 at the Kalayaan Cultural Community Centre at 5225 orbotor Rd in Mississauga.

If the woman you see is not beautiful, they are not a contestant.

Camilineos Christmas Party 2013

While other associations cancelled their Christmas celebrations out of sympathy for the Yolanda typhoon victims in the Philippines, other organizations could not. It is just a nightmare to cancel something that have been planned already and sold out before typhoon Yolanda struck the Philippines.

However, they have decided to donate part of the proceeds to the victims of Yolanda.
"Part of the proceeds will be donated to the victims of typhoon Yolanda," said Harold Guarin, president of Camilineos Association of Canada in Toronto.
